About the Event

Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Space is limited to 30 participants therefore registration is required. Training is FREE compliments of the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Union County and includes participant workbook and a three-year certification.

Please arrive on-time and dressed in preparation for temperature fluctuations that may occur in the training room. There will be two fifteen minute breaks offered during the day along with a half an hour for lunch. Please bring your own lunch as lunch will NOT be provided. Please feel free to bring any items you may require during the training to practice self-care.
