Christina Horan
Chairperson

Commissioner Appointment

Christina is a financial advisor at  Richwood bank and has a track record of liking challenges - she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro! She enjoys working on her hobby farm and likes to be active in making a difference in the community. Her goal for serving on the MHRB is to empower people in her community to live happy, fulfilling lives.

Ian Evans
Vice Chair

Commissioner Appointment

Ian is an attorney at Evans, Evans & Hoffman LLP in Richwood, OH, where he has been a lifelong resident.  He enjoys OSU sports and spending time with his family. He hopes to learn as much as he can about the emerging issues in the mental health field and apply that knowledge in a practical and efficient manner to aid residents of Union County.

Jim works at West Central Community Correctional Facility, a job he began after graduating from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. He is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III and works in the clinical department at WCCCF. His goal for serving on the board is to expand his knowledge base so that he can best serve the community and promote mental wellness.

Glenna Reed

Ohio MHAS Appointment

Glenna graduated of Franklin University and has lived in Union County for 28 years. Prior to retirement, she was employed as the CEO of UCO Industries in Marysville. UCO Industries is a Non-profit and provides employment for people with Developmental Disabilities. She have always been interested in mental health issues and is excited about bringing her experience to the Board.

Karen Chuvalas

Commissioner Appointment

Karen works in Workforce Development for Urbana University, a branch location of Franklin University. She manages a program that brings tuition discounts and scholarships to company employees to make college more affordable & to prepare our youth for their careers.  A long-time advocate and representative of Boy Scout Troop 101, she loves working with youth and feels strongly about the needs of people with mental health and substance abuse concerns.

Annette Doughty

Ohio MHAS Appointment

Annette joins the board with great experience in early childhood education. As the owner of A+ Child Care and Learning Center, she is passionate about early childhood mental health services and how families can be strengthened to prevent mental health and substance use concerns.

Roberta Behrens

Commissioner Appointment

Roberta is a long-time Marysville resident and works as a realtor at Keller Williams Realty. She is a graduate of the 2015 - 2016 class of the Union County Leadership Program. She lives with husband Kevin, son Berkley and amazing pooch Harriet.

Dr. Amy Garbrecht

Ohio MHAS Appointment

Dr. Amy L. Garbrecht is a clinical psychologist working as a Mental Health Professional with NaphCare, Inc. at the Franklin County Corrections Center in downtown Columbus. Dr. Garbrecht has an extensive career working with both adults and adolescents in criminal justice settings both at the county and state level. She earned her Psy.D. from Xavier University in 2005. 

Kim Cutler

Commissioner Appointment

Kim is an attorney with Cannizzaro, Bridges, Jillisky & Streng, one of Marysville’s largest law firms. Her goal for serving on the MHRB is to assist in bringing about positive mental health as part of a whole community effort. "In serving on the Union County Volunteer Guardianship Board, I have experienced how the mental health of an individual can be positively influenced with the right resources in the community."

Jake Fishman

Commissioner Appointment

Jake manages the Clinical Informatics department at Memorial Hospital. As a registered nurse, he has directly cared for patients that were also dealing with mental health substance abuse issues.  He believes strongly in the importance of comprehensive mental health and recovery services in the community. His goal for serving on the board is to help increase access to appropriate services for area residents.

Janell Alexander

Janell is the fiscal supervisor at Union County Human Services.  She enjoys reading, exercising, and cooking.  Her goal for serving on the board is to increase access to mental health services and increase the types of services available for residents of Union County.

Paula Lynch

Paula has been a Union County resident for 25+ years. She retired as an RN in 2014 and is now a Realtor and a small business owner. Having an adult  step son with a diagnosis of Schizophrenia has made it imperative to know the resources available in our community. Being a board member provides an opportunity to not only know what those services are, but also to advocate for those who need the services.
