This is an in-person training with Dr. Lori Desautels, provided at no cost to individuals who live or work in Union County by the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Union County.
Participants will receive a copy of Dr. Desautels' book, Connections Over Compliance, and are encouraged to attend virtual follow-up events on November 19, January 7, and March 11.
Training Description: The emotional and physiological states of adults profoundly impact the well-being of children and adolescents. In this session, we will examine how adversity and trauma affect the developing brain and nervous system, and how adult nervous system regulation plays a central role in creating environments that support social, emotional, and academic growth for all. Grounded in the principles of Applied Educational Neuroscience, this training offers practical strategies that professionals across educational and behavioral health settings can use to promote co-regulation, resilience, and healing.
